How do we see the world around us? If we look closely to the natural shapes that are formed around us, we can make letters.
This project will stretch your creative outlook on the "normal" world and will require you to look closely to your surroundings.
Some letters are easier than others: I's and X's and T's are very common, but where can you see more challenging curved letters like Q or S?
For this project you are going to create an alphabet grid in photoshop.
Assignment: You must photograph the entire alphabet, A-Z. The natural elements can be man-made or natural, but cannot be actual letters written on a sign or wall and cannot be other people's artwork. You will be creating an alphabet grid like the one pictured using Adobe Photoshop. YOU MAY NOT TAKE THE SAME PHOTOGRAPH AS YOUR FRIEND/ PARTNER/ ETC. You must find your own letters. You may not use the same subject for multiple letters (ex. can't use floor tiles for I and H and T)
Each photo should be carefully taken and edited. Image needs to be cropped in camera or photoshop so that the letter FILLS THE FRAME.
There are no set dimensions, you will be creating a new canvas and start with 8 x 10. Add space to your canvas as needed by going to top menu > image > canvas size
RESIZING: Once your image is placed on your new canvas: On your keyboard click Command and T > then hold shift and click on a corner of your photo to resize and reposition it.
This project will be worth 75 points. Graded based on time spent, effort, guidelines met. Can be all color, all black and white, or mixture. BE CREATIVE!
